Consultation Services
I offer consultation groups for clinicians interested in improving their skills in the treatment of trauma and dissociation. Some groups are specifically designed to assist in preparing for obtaining the approved clinician status under EMDRIA.
Group meets once a month for 90 minutes. I make every attempt to schedule a time that works for everyone but it is an imperfect system. The purpose of group is to provide case consultation primarily for trauma-related clinical matters. My intent is for everyone to have an opportunity to talk—usually about a case but not necessarily. I only allow a maximum of five in a group so that everyone has time to talk.
Fee is $120 for three 90 minute groups. Scheduling and paying in this way allows for minimal disruption due to clerical details in group but also a commitment that most folks can live with. If you are a new member, or a returning member (meaning you’ve been gone for a while) I expect the fee to be paid 10 calendar days before the start of a new group. If you are unable to come to a scheduled meeting, you are still responsible for the cost of the group. However, I offer a 30-minute individual phone consultation if you are unable to attend. I make every attempt to schedule around vacations and such but again it is an imperfect system. As my fellow clinicians, I expect that you are aware that my time is my only way to generate income.
If you are working towards certification in EMDR, I am happy to provide you with documentation of the hours in group as those can count towards certification. My groups are case centered and there may be limited time available for teaching and evaluating the intricacies of standard EMDR (vs. trauma-specific variations).
Therefore, before I sign off on your certification process, I may require that we schedule a 1-1 time for you to present a case, show me a video of your work, etc. You will be responsible for this extra cost.
